POM / Acetal Composite Bushings (SF-2 type)

POM composite bushing on white background

POM (acetal) composite bushings (SF-2 type) use a steel backing with a POM working layer that includes grease pockets. They suit heavy load and low speed under boundary lubrication — periodic grease is part of the design. Distinct from dry-running PTFE-lined SF-1.

When to use

  • Heavy load, low sliding speed
  • Oscillating or slow rotating joints where grease can be applied on a schedule
  • Boundary-lubricated positions specified as SF-2 type
  • Equipment duty that expects grease

Not the first pick when: true dry-running low friction is required — use PTFE-lined; or high-impact dusty pins with solid-lubricant plugs preferred — use graphite-plugged.

Forms available

  • Cylindrical (sleeve) bushings
  • Flanged bushings
  • Common SF-2 type reference sizes on request

Materials

Layer stack (typical): steel backing + POM / acetal lining with grease pockets. Grease type and interval are application-dependent — include in RFQ notes.

Typical duty

Agricultural linkages and hitch-related joints; construction equipment grease-lubricated pivots; general machinery oscillating bearings; positions where OEM drawings call for SF-2 type / POM composite.

Operating envelope (qualitative)

Heavy load · low speed · grease / boundary lubrication. Numeric P / V / PV from factory datasheet on request.

Replacement / equivalent note

Often cross-referenced as SF-2 type (POM composite). Industry codes are for engineering cross-reference only. Liantuo Bushing is not affiliated with third-party brand owners.

Common metric sizes (industry catalogs)

Industry-typical SF-2 type (POM / acetal, grease-pocket) metric sizes from open manufacturer catalogs (mm). Not a row-by-row extract of any national standard. Boundary-lubricated design — not a drop-in for dry-running SF-1.

Industry-typical fits (catalog notes): shaft often h8; housing H7 (different from SF-1 shaft f7 — do not swap by letter alone).
